Me at 9 with my first piano

About Me

My journey with the piano began with my grandad, who played both the piano and organ. Some of my earliest memories involve playing Sammy Cohn’s "Three Coins in the Fountain" and experimenting with the bass pedals using my hands. Music became my comfort, and I found myself captivated by learning pieces that challenged my skills. Through slow and persistent practice, and patient teaching I gradually began to piece together the melodies, deepening my love for the instrument.

After a rocky start with graded exams with the Associated Board of the Royal School of music, and failing my grade 3, I didn’t let that setback stop me.  I continued to perform in local musical festivals, where I thrived in performance and won several classes with distinction.

In my adulthood, I served as a worship leader in my church, combining my voice and piano skills to lead the congregation.  I later pursued further education at Goldsmiths, London, focusing on piano performance and musicianship.

Through all of my musical journey, thus far, it does not matter where you are, we are all continually learning and refining our playing and listening skills every day.

Today I teach in a safe and nurturing space on my Yamaha baby grand piano, model number GB1.  Come and start your musical journey today!
